Have you ever seen a Water Bridge over a river?.......

Even after you see it, it is still hard to believe!
Water Bridge in Germany. What a feat!
Six years, 500 million Euros, 918 meters long........now this is engineering!
This is a channel-bridge over the River Elbe and joins the former East and West Germany,
As part of the unification project. It is located in the city of Magdeburg, near Berlin .
The photo was taken on the day of inauguration.

Be Glad Your Nose is on Your Face

Be glad your nose is on your face,
not pasted on some other place,
for if it were where it is not,
you might dislike your nose a lot.
Imagine if your precious nose
were sandwiched in between your toes,
that clearly would not be a treat,
for you'd be forced to smell your feet.

Your nose would be a source of dread
were it attached atop your head,
it soon would drive you to despair,
forever tickled by your hair.

Within your ear, your nose would be
an absolute catastrophe,
for when you were obliged to sneeze,
your brain would rattle from the breeze.

Your nose, instead, through thick and thin,
remains between your eyes and chin,
not pasted on some other place--
be glad your nose is on your face!
-by Jack Prelutsky

I found this poem on web pages, and don't know why i liked it and wanted to post it, and now when i got this picture of my son, i thought the poem will be a good match.

Tooth Fairy

When the Tooth Fairy heard you lost a tooth
do you know what she did?
She made a map to visit you
'cause you're a special kid
First she got your home address
and checked her fairy map
Then she flew to your place
where she saw your brand new "gap"

Of course she took your worn out tooth
just like she's always done
but she's left you something nice instead
to help you have some fun

Who ran to help me when I fell, And would some pretty story tell, Or kiss the place to make it well? My mother.

What can be a better gift then a bouqet done by your son specially for you, i was over whelmed with this bouquet, when Nadin gave me, specially with a heart pasted on it. All the mothers out there - wish you a very happy mothers day!!

"Motherhood is the greatest potential influence in human society. Her caress first awakens in the child a sense of security; her kiss the first realization of affection; her sympathy and tenderness, the first assurance that there is love in the world. Thus in infancy and childhood she implants ever-directing and restraining influences that remain through life." - David 0. McKay

Rice Terraces of Banaue, Philippines

"For 2,000 years, the high rice fields of the Ifugao have followed the contours of the mountains. The fruit of knowledge handed down from one generation to the next, and the expression of sacred traditions and a delicate social balance, they have helped to create a landscape of great beauty that expresses the harmony between humankind and the environment."

Happiness.........

The happiness you seek, will be found deep within
Realization will dawn, as you live out each day
You need no approval, but that of yourself
The power of your essence will show you the way

Hold till completion, the decisions you make
Always thinking of others, but yourself must be first
Spread betterment and help, to all that you touch
Living in truth, rather than living the curse

Strive to serve, a more fruitful, of purpose in life
A path full of honesty, love, and real hope
Make your soul a bright beacon, let it shine in the night
So the others that see, learn a new way to cope

Go now, find the truth, for yourself once again
So that you too may learn, and share with your friends
With the loved ones around you, the people who care
Giving guidance they need, the peace never ends

And as you become at long last, their new guide
You realize at the end, you are happy and full
For the only thing, that we can take at this journey's end
Are the things we have given, and the truth that we know

Let's be friends

Pink Lady of http://pinklady-bing.blogspot.com/ gave me "let's be friends award".This is the second Award from her to me and i am really hounoured as she is wonderful lady and a very good blogger, she can pen down her heart very well.

This is what the "Let's Be Friends" Award represents:

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.
Since i ma new to this bloggers world and also dont follow many blogs, will just choose few people i already consider as friend and want to resume my friendshp with them .Please accept my love and gratitude:
"Friends are the angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."

The Road Goes Ever On

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet,
And whither then? I cannot say.

Though the elephant's tail is short, it can nevertheless keep flies off the elephant

Like the elephant, we are unconscious of our own strength. When it comes to understanding the power we have to make a difference in our own lives, we might as well be asleep. If you want to make your dreams come true, wake up. Wake up to your own strength. Wake up to the role you play in your own destiny. Wake up to the power you have to choose what you think, do, and say.

I don't know if God exists, but it would be better for His reputation if He didn't.

“I've met God across his long walnut desk with his diplomas hanging on the wall behind him, and God asks me, "Why?" Why did I cause so much pain? Didn't I realize that each of us is a sacred, unique snowflake of special unique specialness? Can't I see how we're all manifestations of love? I look at God behind his desk, taking notes on a pad, but God's got this all wrong. We are not special. We are not crap or trash, either. We just are. We just are, and what happens just happens. And God says, "No, that's not right." Yeah. Well. Whatever. You can't teach God anything.”

Happiness is like a cloud, if you stare at it long enough, it evaporates

A cloud does not know why it moves in just such a direction and at such a speed...It feels an impulsion...this is the place to go now. But the sky knows the reasons and the patterns behind all clouds, and you will know, too, when you lift yourself high enough to see beyond horizons.

The Eagle

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ringed with the azure world, he stands.
The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.

A fresh New Year ...

Another fresh new year is here . . .
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!

This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . .
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!

I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!”

The best feeling in the world is to be millions of miles away and still be able to picture his eyes.

Today i would like to write few words for my beloved, Mahendra, who died on 26th of june 2008 in a tragic plane crash, while at work . And its been exactly six months today. So todays post is just to remember him with everyone out there, though i remember him all the time.

The pictures i put in this blog are all taken by him, he was a true explorer and loved nature. I have created a whole blog for him as a tribute, those who wants to know more about him can check it : http://inlovingmemorymahendrakumar.blogspot.com/.

The lines below is just a section of the whole poem , i just decided to choose the part i like.

Perhaps you are the morning bird
singing joyfully at sunrise,
or the butterfly that dances
so carelessly on the breeze
or the rainbow of colours
that brightens a stormy sky
or the fingers of afternoon mist
delicately reaching over the mountains
or the final few rays of the setting sun
lighting up the skies
edging the clouds with a magical glow

There’s Sunshine in a Smile !!

Life is a mixture of sunshine and rain,
Laughter and pleasure tear drops and rain.

All day can’t be bright but it’s certainly true,
There was never a cloud the sun didn’t shine through

And you’ll find when you smile your day will be brighter
And your burdens will seem so much lighter.

For each time you smile you will find it’s true
Somebody, somewhere, will smile back at you.

And nothing on earth can make life more worthwhile
Than the sunshine and the warmth of a beautiful
smile!

Be thankful..

Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you've made a difference.
Its easy Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
To be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfilment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings.

Life is too short for love

“How did it happen that their lips came together? How does it happen that birds sing, that snow melts, that the rose unfolds, that the dawn whitens behind the stark shapes of trees on the quivering summit of the hill? A kiss, and all was said.”

Next secret weapon

Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A beauty bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas. And we wouldn't go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination.

Life goes on !!

Past few months I have been experiencing some new aspects of life, and was trying to figure out the meaning of life. And look what i found , I am going to pour all in this blog.

You've got to take the good with the bad,
smile with the sad, love what you've got,
and remember what you had.
Always forgive, but never forget.
Learn from your mistakes, but never regret.
People change, things go wrong
just remember, life goes on.
